1. What This Policy Covers
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Browsers also provide similar storage technologies — local storage, session storage and IndexedDB — which serve the same purpose of remembering information on your device.
VdoZen relies mainly on local storage rather than traditional cookies. This policy covers all of these technologies, and for simplicity we refer to them together as “cookies and similar storage.”
2. What We Store on Your Device
Essential — required for the service to work
- Firebase Authentication session: stored by Google's Firebase Authentication in local storage and IndexedDB to keep you signed in between visits. It is refreshed while you stay active and is cleared when you sign out.
- Cookie consent choice (
cookie-consent): remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice so we do not show it on every page. - Device identifier (
__device_id_v2): a random identifier used only to stop the same device from claiming the same free trial or promotional credit more than once. It is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. See Section 1 of our Privacy Policy.
Functional — remembers your choices and work in progress
- Interface preferences (
navbarCollapsed): remembers whether you collapsed the sidebar. - Recent project data (
videoUrls,tokens): caches links to your recent videos and your current token balance so pages load faster without re-fetching. - YouTube connection state (
yt_connected,yt_account): remembers which channel you connected so the interface can show it. This stores the channel name only — your Google access tokens are never stored in your browser. They are held on our servers, as described in Section 5 of our Privacy Policy. - Pending actions (
yt_pending_upload,yt_return_generated_video,pending_ref_code): short-lived session entries that let you return to what you were doing after signing in or connecting a channel. These are cleared when you close the tab.
Advertising and analytics — none
We use no advertising cookies, no analytics or tracking pixels, and no cross-site tracking. We do not profile your browsing behaviour, and we do not sell any of this information.
3. Third-Party Storage
We do not place third-party advertising or analytics cookies. The only third-party storage on our site is set by Google Firebase Authentication, which keeps you signed in, and is essential to the service.
Payments are handled by Paddle, our Merchant of Record, in Paddle's own checkout. When you open the checkout, Paddle may set its own cookies under Paddle's privacy policy, which we do not control. We never see or store your card details.
4. How Long It Lasts
- Session entries: deleted automatically when you close the browser tab.
- Local storage entries: remain on your device until you sign out, clear your browser storage, or we remove them.
- Firebase Authentication session: persists until you sign out or the session is invalidated.
5. Managing and Clearing Your Data
You can clear this data at any time by signing out, or by clearing site data for vdozen.com in your browser settings (usually under “Privacy” → “Cookies and site data”). Because most of what we store is essential, clearing it will sign you out and reset your preferences, and some features may not work until you sign in again.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page.
